Overview

Need a campaign to take a breather? Maybe you’re running an experiment, setting up a holdout, or rethinking the copy. Aampe doesn’t have a pause button, and it doesn’t need one: archiving a message works as a clean, reversible pause. The message steps out of rotation, and your agents keep everything they’ve learned about it. When you’re ready, un-archive it and they pick up right where they left off.

How to pause a campaign

  1. Find the message group(s) you want to pause under your Live messages
  2. Click the orange Archive icon on the right of each Message Group to archive it Image
  3. When asked for confirmation, click “Archive” again

  1. Make sure your newly-archived message now shows up under “Archived” in the Message Group list
That’s it. Archived messages drop out of rotation and stop being served, so your agents won’t pick them for anyone until you bring them back.
Tip: Jot down which messages you archived and why (your experiment plan is a good spot). Future you will thank you when it’s time to resume.

Why archiving makes a good pause

  • It stops the sends. The message leaves active rotation, so the campaign goes quiet.
  • It’s fully reversible. Nothing is deleted. Un-archive whenever you’re ready.
  • Your agents don’t forget. Everything they’ve learned about the message stays intact while it’s paused.

How to resume

  1. Find the archived messages in the message list.
  2. Un-archive each one.
Your campaign is back in rotation, and there’s no cold start. Agents don’t have to re-explore the message from scratch. They carry on from what they already know.
