What Are Label Weights?
Label Weights let you quickly shift messaging priorities without creating new campaigns. Simply increase or decrease a Label’s weight to see more or fewer messages with the associated label. Weights are particularly helpful for labels associated with specific product offerings, topics, or value propositions. When business priorities shift, you can adjust content priorities accordingly.- Offerings: toggle message volume based on inventory levels, seasonality, new products
- Value Propositions: increase messages on ‘affordability’ to accompany a TV campaign
- Topics: security, referral programs, changes to the app or website
How Label Weights Work
Each message in Aampe is associated with a set of labels. Behind each label is a probability model that tracks the label’s expected performance and confidence level. An Aampe Agent chooses labels by sampling from each probability model and selecting the label with the highest draw. This ensures higher-performing labels and their associated messages are selected more frequently, while still allowing Agents to occasionally explore content with other labels. Why Use Label Weights?
Priorities can change quickly, and Label Weights allow you to quickly communicate priorities to Agents.- Label weights take immediate effect. See results without waiting for Agents to learn on their own.
- Labels are flexible. They can apply to an entire messages or to select variants of a message.

FAQs
-
Does increasing a label weight guarantee more messages with that label?
Increasing a label’s weight will increase its chances of being featured in a message, but results may vary depending on audience size, content quality, and other label weights. - Will changing label weights permanently change Agent priorities? Agents will make use of your Label Weights until they are removed (set to neutral). It’s possible, however, that increasing a label’s weight simply helps an agent learn more quickly that customers do not like content with that label.
- What does Relative Strength of +50 mean? Is it 50% more messages? Because of differences in audiences, other label weights, and content quality, it is impossible to promise a specific increase in messages for a given increase in weight. We recommend starting with modest steps, monitoring the results, and then taking larger steps as needed.
- Will increasing the weight of one label decrease the volume of messages sent to other labels? By design, Agents do not send every message to every person. If Agents are going to send ~3 messages to each customer this week and we increases a label’s weight, any increase in messages with that label will naturally crowd out messages with other labels.
