The Choice is Yours

You have full control over how often Aampe syncs data from your integrated data sources. The right frequency depends on your specific use case and how you want to balance responsiveness with potential cost and complexity.

Lower Frequency Syncs

Syncing once or twice a day is low complexity and still provides Aampe agents with the data they need to learn. Audiences based on user events or attributes may not reflect real-time changes, but many messages can still be effective. This approach works well when:
  • Customer data changes slowly
  • You’re running campaigns based on stable attributes (demographics, historical patterns)
  • Cost efficiency is a priority
Aampe’s learning still works effectively and adapts to data that is backfilled or otherwise delayed. That said, Aampe recommends syncing no less than once a day.

Higher Frequency Syncs

Syncing more frequently (e.g. hourly batch or real-time via API) creates more accurate audiences, enabling real-time or near-real-time personalization. This enables time-sensitive use cases like:
  • Abandoned carts or browse recovery
  • Location-based triggers
  • Flash sales or limited-time offers
This comes at the potential cost of higher compute and may require additional engineering resources.

Syncing Fast and Slow

Many customers start with a daily sync and then sync more often as needed. Sometimes this comes through more frequent batch syncs. Other times this comes from sending specific events via API in addition to a daily sync.

The sync frequency doesn’t affect Aampe’s ability to optimize and personalize. But fresh data improves the integrity of audiences and enables event-based messages.
